Our beautiful, natural surroundings continue to inspire me through their changing sounds, shapes, patterns, energy, colors, as well as their spiritual connections. My artwork is a journey of that fluidity through it’s unifying abstractions.
The stone sculpture process is very time consuming, but extremely satisfying. Basically, I let the stone (alabaster, limestone, and soapstone) intuitively tell me where to subtract. Using  my knowledge of form and various materials, the sculpture gradually progresses from simple to a more complex form.
I received my BS, MS, and EDS in Art Education, and gratefully taught elementary through college for 35 years. High school  age was my favorite level as there was never a dull moment! Having taught all mediums including art history, today I still experiment with paints, mixed media, and fibers besides stone.

I began working in glass in 2015, after a lifetime of photography. Both mediums use light as a central element in design and form. With kilnformed glass, I am able to bring to life my memories, dreams and ideas in a solid, textured form. I make windows, sculptures, and functional objects.
